Remote-based Patros, of La Crosse, WI, is a Minneapolis founded band by Jordan Patros-who later initiated the band with wife Sarah Patros, and cousin Toryn Patros, upon moving back to his hometown of La Crosse in mid-2012. Jordan wrote an EP in Minneapolis that took folk-blues-rock songs to include elements of hip-hop.
“At age 12 I was listening to Dr. Dre and Nirvana equally while learning to play the guitar. I couldn’t decide which movement I felt more of. Rock and blues guitar coupled with programmed instrumentals seems to be the place we fit into currently. The digital beats aren’t as forgiving on stage, but the overall effect, when working, is powerful to satisfy both camps,” said Jordan.
To begin getting familiarized with pushbutton as a form of launching tracks, Jordan helped throw tailgate parties as DJ Pureplay to crowds of University of Minnesota football fans. He also went on to play shows around Minneapolis where DJ Soulwork would help launch the live instrumental for songs that are still waiting to be released.
The live addition of Sarah Patros’ honey dripped voice/ luscious flute harmonies and Toryn Patros’ mathy synth gives contrast between blues vulnerability and dark hip-hop tones.
The band has an EP, Blues-Hop, due to come out in Fall of 2013. [+]
