Peter E. Izanec

Peter Izanec represents public and private companies, private equity funds, and hedge funds in a wide variety of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, joint ventures, financings, pension de-risking transactions, proxy contests, activist investments, and governance matters. He works with clients in many industries, including consumer goods, financial services, mortgage-related industries, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, food and beverage, retail, high technology development companies, heavy manufacturing, and restaurant chains.

Some recent matters include: Procter & Gamble's sales of its beauty ($12.5 billion), pet foods ($2.9 billion), Pringles snacks ($2.7 billion), Folgers ($3.3 billion), and Duracell ($2.9 billion) businesses and joint venture with Teva Pharmaceuticals for its global OTC medicine business; numerous acquisitions of public companies, including Albertsons' $17 billion sale and FirstMerit Corporation's $912 million acquisition of Citizens Republic Bancorp; and General Motors and Verizon Communications in their respective groundbreaking $28 billion and $9 billion pension de-risking transactions.
