Philip Sheng

Phil Sheng’s practice is focused on intellectual property litigation. He has represented clients before the International Trade Commission, federal district courts, and California state court, in matters related to life sciences and pharmaceuticals, semiconductor integrated circuits, integrated circuit packaging, smartphone and tablet displays, and related technologies. Prior to joining Jones Day, Phil served as a law clerk to the chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which has exclusive, nationwide appellate jurisdiction over cases arising under the patent laws.

Phil is actively involved in pro bono service. Most recently, Phil successfully overturned a prison sentence for a client incarcerated under California's Three-Strikes Law based on prior ineffective assistance of counsel. [1]
