Primus Malbec 2013

Primus Malbec shows raspberry, plum and blueberry flavors with hints of violet, black pepper and tobacco. This is a full-bodied wine with well-integrated oak and a lengthy finish. Primus Malbec represents the unique character of high-altitude, old-vines from Mendoza and comes primarily from vineyards in one of Mendozas oldest regions. The grapes are hand harvested, cooled and double sorted. Whole berry fermentations occur in temperature controlled concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wines age for 14 months in French oak. Malbec is the most widely planted red grape variety in Argentina with cuttings brought to the country in the 1800s by the French. Argentine Malbec is characterized by its deep color and intense fruity flavors with a soft velvety texture. [+]
