Priya Badlani

Priya Badlani advises clients in the oil and gas industry. She has advised clients in the energy sector on private placements, public offerings, acquisitions and dispositions of shares and business assets, stock exchange listings, and corporate reorganizations.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, Priya was counsel to the underwriting syndicate led by RBC Capital Markets, Barclays Capital Canada, Merrill Lynch Canada, and BMO Capital Markets on Oryx Petroleum Corporation's $250 million initial public offering. She also advised: Canada Pension Plan Investment Board on its $170 million investment in TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. and on its equity financing of Seven Generations Energy; Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan Board in its US$150 million equity financing of Canbriam Energy; Angle Energy in two public financings for $44 and $60 million; Cameco Corporation in connection with filing a $1 billion short form base shelf prospectus; URS Corporation in its $1.5 billion acquisition of Flint Energy Services; Golden Crescent Investments, an affiliate of Citadel Capital, in its proposed sale of National Petroleum Company Egypt Limited, to Sea Dragon Energy; and Tamarack Valley Energy in their acquisition of privately held Echoex Ltd., by way of an exempt takeover bid.
