Rebecca Swindells

Rebecca Swindells has extensive experience in a wide range of intellectual property issues, including copyright, design and database rights, trademarks, domain names, and confidential information. She has a particular sector focus on technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) as well as retail and financial services. She advises companies on licensing disputes, chain of title issues, format right disputes, copyright and trademark infringement (particularly on-line), protection and infringement of rights with software and databases, running global anticounterfeiting programs, and alternative dispute resolution, including mediations.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Rebecca acted for Telefónica UK in an Intellectual Property Enterprise Court trademark claim regarding the O2 mark; acted for Crocs, Inc. on various IP enforcement issues including High Court trademark and design right infringement proceedings; acted for Getty Images in a High Court copyright infringement claim; represented Viacom against one of its licensees of the Nickelodeon and MTV channels in a High Court trial; and obtained summary judgment on behalf of Elvis Presley Enterprises in a High Court claim for trademark infringement and passing off with respect to album sales of Elvis remixes.
