Ricardo H. Puente

Rick Puente represents individuals, financial institutions, and corporate entities in litigation, arbitrations, and trials involving complex business, torts and investment disputes. He has served as lead counsel in matters involving fraud, civil RICO, deceptive trade practices, Hague Treaty violations, and cross-border disputes in Latin America.

Rick's experience prior to joining Jones Day in 2015 includes representing national banks in litigation and arbitrations (court confirmed arbitration awards, including judgment for attorney's fees and costs); representing Latin American investors in an investment dispute in the energy sector; representing a national bank and its foreign subsidiary in the Caribbean in federal court litigation involving asset tracing of fraudulent wire transfers to entities in the United States and abroad; representing a professional athlete in a trademark infringement case against a major U.S. corporation and its foreign subsidiary; representing a Central American resort in federal court litigation in the United States; representing a high net worth family from Central America in a private banking and securities dispute involving an Edge Act entity and its broker dealer subsidiary; and defending an online securities broker in an administrative licensing matter and in arbitrations.
