Ripley Caine

A Chicago-based duo comprised of singer/guitarist Ripley Caine and drummer Chuck Harling, Ripley Caine strikes a balance between singer/songwriter and everything good about indie pop/rock. The 2 originally performed and toured together earlier in the decade to much acclaim. While the band took a hiatus in 2003, Ripley Caine toured the country as a solo performer and released 4 solo records. In the summer of 2011, Ripley got the band back together to play a few shows and release the EP, “Scotch.” The band is currently working on a full length record to be released in 2015.

It’s a bit like having Joni Mitchell pick up a hitcher and having a not-so-indiscreet rendezvous in a thrift store changing room while PJ Harvey and Suzanne Vega knowingly watch along. You feel intimacy, you feel strength, you feel power, you feel sensitivity.

“It’s that singer/songwriter thing but with better songs and better musicians.” - WXRT-FM Richard Milne Chicago, IL

“She is bright, observant, introspective, upfront, aloof, friendly, casual, humorous, straightforward, cute, intimate, seemingly certain and a musician and songwriter worthy of your attention. Her music is painful, confrontational, beautiful, catchy, immediate, echoey and sustaining.” - Louisville Music News - Louisville, KY

“Ripley Caine is a woman with a crystal clear voice, a confidence bearing that fills the room and the ability to really make her guitar sing.” - Nuvo – Indianapolis, IN
