Risa Salins practices in Skadden’s Labor and Employment Law Group. Ms. Salins regularly advises companies on labor and employment matters arising out of complex U.S. and multinational corporate transactions. She also counsels employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination laws, employee privacy issues, accommodations for disabled workers, whistleblower protections, wage and hour laws, workplace safety and health and issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act. She has extensive experience advising companies on compliance with federal and state WARN laws and has guided clients on properly conducting some of the largest mass layoffs and plant closings around the country. Firm clients often turn to Ms. Salins to negotiate and draft sophisticated employment agreements, separation agreements and restrictive covenants. She also engages in all aspects of employment litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Her litigation experience includes defense of discrimination, retaliation and Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower claims, and cases concerning the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
