Tannat is a red wine grape historically grown in Southwestern France in the Madiran AOC and is now one of the most prominent grapes in Uruguay, where it is considered the “national grape.” Rock Wall’s 2011 ‘The Palindrome’ Tannat is a blend from two different vineyards in two separate climates – the first, a warm weather Tannat from Solano County, and the second, a cool weather Tannat from the Russian River Valley. The result is a rich, red wine with aromas of fresh cappuccino, dark chocolate, and rich blackberry, and commanding flavors of ripe blueberry and rose hips. A Palindrome is a word that is spelled the same both forward and backward, and fittingly, this wine will excite your palate from front to back and vice versa. [+]
