Samantha Woo represents employers in connection with a wide range of employment litigation matters and labor management relations issues. A large portion of her practice focuses on labor relations matters, including collective bargaining and unfair labor practice cases. She also has been involved in litigation in federal and state courts as well as in administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies involving wage and hour disputes arising under the FLSA and in discrimination disputes arising under Title VII, the ADA, and the FMLA. Additionally, Samantha counsels clients in connection with labor and employment issues that arise in mergers and acquisitions and other business transactions.Samantha recently assisted in the development and implementation of the City of Detroit's labor strategy in connection with its historic chapter 9 bankruptcy and other restructuring matters. In that role, she drafted and assisted in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements with numerous unions and the reorganization of the City's police, fire, transportation, and law departments.
