Sarah Batley

Sarah Batley is a general commercial litigator with experience in complex litigation claims, including those with cross-border elements. Sarah has acted for large corporates, banks, funds, and individuals advising on a range of contentious issues in various areas including, in particular, contract, tort, fraud, insolvency, real estate, professional negligence, and employment. She has experience in disputes resolved by litigation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Sarah's recent experience includes: advising Langbar International Limited, the AIM-listed company wrongly believed to have assets in excess of $600m, on recovery proceedings arising out of the fraud perpetrated on it; working as part of the team advising Sibir Energy plc in connection with a $500m fraud perpetrated by its former directors; advising Bombardier in multijurisdictional disputes arising out of the sale and purchase of aircraft; working as part of the team advising a multinational corporation on complex worldwide enforcement issues; acting for a property investment fund in relation to a claim for negligent misstatement against a local authority; acting for two high net worth individuals in respect of a professional negligence claim against their former solicitors; and advising financial institutions on claims arising in connection with invoice finance facilities.
