Sbragia 2007 Chardonnay Gamble Ranch

Ed Sbragia has made Chardonnay from Gamble Ranch in Napa Valley’s Oakville District for so many years that it was a natural choice when he decided to make a Napa Valley Chardonnay for Sbragia Family Vineyards. This is the sixth vintage for this wine, and as always, its multiple layers of complexity and structure make it truly distinctive with an exciting blend of flavors. When crafting the wine, Sbragia’s goal is to make a Chardonnay as rich and full-bodied as possible while keeping the wine in balance and maintaining the vineyard’s terrior and Chardonnay expression. Ed Sbragia calls the 2007 Gamble Ranch Chardonnay “a rich, luscious wine from the first aromas of butterscotch, citrus zest, golden delicious apple and sweet vanilla. Its ripe fruit and citrus flavors are layered with hints of baking spices and stone fruit, ending with a layered, supple finish. This incredible, show-stopper wine was awarded 94 Points from Robert Parker, 93 Points from Wine Spectator magazine, and 92 Points from Wine Enthusiast magazine! American wine critic James Laube calls the Chardonnay a “Top Wine.” [+]
