Scott B. Poteet

Scott Poteet's practice is focused on intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent litigation and prosecution. He has experience in high-stakes patent and trade secret litigation involving a variety of different technologies, including software and operating systems, internet applications, vehicle telematics, electronic I/O connectors, ambient light sensors, railcar insulation products, and polymer compositions.

Scott also has significant experience with post-grant review (PGR) proceedings before the USPTO and is a member of Jones Day's PGR trial team. In addition, he has substantial experience in domestic and international patent prosecution and in providing patentability, freedom to operate, and invalidity opinions in the mechanical and electrical arts. Scott is also a member of Jones Day's interdisciplinary team of cybersecurity and data protection attorneys, advising national and multinational clients with respect to new and novel issues in privacy and cybersecurity.
