Scott Forbes with his acoustic guitar is an indie rock story teller. Scott resides in central Florida, many miles from his hometown of Westfield in western, NY. At the age of 15 when Scott first began writing he wrote the lyrics to a song that was later recorded by an artist in Buffalo, NY. In 1996 he also received the Chautauqua County Vocal Scholarship for Voice. After a failed attempt with a band in Western New York, he moved to Central Florida in 1999 and began performing at local open mics with only his acoustic guitar and original material. He quickly gained attention from local musicians and fans alike for his unique sound and relatable lyrics. His songs are stories about life, love, and heartache, painted through sound with his unique voice and acoustic guitar. Scott performed almost nightly while working full time and raising a family, and eventually became burnt out and frustrated playing for anyone who would listen so he walked away from music in 2005. Although away from the stage, all the while he continued to write and hone his craft on the guitar. In June 2012 Scott Forbes returned to play his music, write new songs, and live in the moment through music. His sound is natural and raw, just as he is because Scott believes in always being true to himself and his audience. Scott is a member of Songwriters Showcases of America, International Songwriters Guild and BMI. He is currently working on his first ever full band 5 song EP to be released in July 2014. [+]
