On October 13, 2007, after nearly 17 grueling hours, Scott Rigsby did the unthinkable: he crossed the finish line at the 140.6-mile Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. In doing so he set a world record as the first double-amputee on prosthetics to complete the Ironman World Championships in Kona - considered to be the most grueling triathlon on earth.
