Selene Espinosa

Selene Espinosa focuses her practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance, M&A, implementation of private equity investments in Mexican companies, international joint ventures, financing of infrastructure assets, and real estate matters. She has led due diligence proceedings for corporate acquisitions and credit agreements, participated in international acquisitions of shares and assets, and advised clients in corporate governance, data protection, and foreign investment matters across such industries as mining, aviation, insurance, construction, pharmaceuticals, retail, and automotive.

Selene's experience prior to joining Jones Day includes negotiating a joint venture agreement and formation of a joint venture company by a Canadian mining company and a Mexican mining conglomerate for the exploration of a mine in Durango, Mexico; negotiating the acquisition of a cargo airline; and representing a multinational company in multiple land acquisitions and land leases throughout Mexico involving large retail outlets. She also trained at General Electric in the commercial finance department, where she was involved in the implementation of credit agreements for GE as lender, and worked at a Mexico City law firm for several years.
