Signals from Satellites

"Signals From Satellites is an excellent band that played a brilliant set. They know how to catch your attention, but they are also very subtle. It was exemplary." - Marc Ganancias, Orlando Punk and Indie Music Examiner, April 29th 2009

"Together, the trio of instruments provides a system of democratic checks and balances for one another. Tension-filled guitar chords are held in place by melodic, flowing bass lines. The drums play off the bass and guitar, driving the songs and creating their own counter-rhythms. On top of all that, Smith’s vocals help to provide a sense fraught emotion to each track. To fully grasp what Signals From Satellites is about, they need to be experienced live."-Gabe Lowenberg, Tampa Bay Times, September 24th 2010

The band was formed in April 08 by guitarist/vocalist Rodney Smith, bassist Ric Tutlo and drummer Phil Harrington. Signals From Satellites recorded a 7-song demo, Dotted Lines E.P., which was released as a download and CD in October, 09. It nods to their influences like Minus The Bear, Sonic Youth, Maritime, and firehose while retaining their own fresh and relevant sound. Signals From Satellites has been featured on "Underground Xpress" (cable television), WMNF (local radio), and "Whiskey Rebellion" (podcast).
