Simon Arlington

Simon Arlington's practice focuses on private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He advises public and private companies, private equity houses, fund vehicles, and management teams on a range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, investments, joint ventures, and fund raisings (both start-up capital and subsequent financing rounds) in domestic and cross-border transactions. Simon also advises corporate clients on a range of company and commercial matters.

Simon's recent experience, prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, includes advising: Blackstone Real Estate on the restructuring and subsequent £1.7 billion disposal of its 50 percent stake in the Broadgate Estate in London; Darwin Private Equity on the acquisition (and subsequent investments into) Esendex, a text marketing company; and Praxair, Inc. on the acquisition of Dominion Technology Gases Investment Limited, a global supplier of specialty gases and associated equipment to the offshore oil and gas industry. He also spent six months on secondment at Strata Capital, a quasi-private equity fund with interests in the mining sector, predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa. During this time he advised Strata's AIM-listed portfolio companies, Zanaga and Ncondezi, on joint ventures, commercial contracts, acquisitions, ongoing obligations, and the implementation of Bribery Act policies.
