Splintered Throne began in 2006 in Portland, Oregon, as a project encompassing everything from death metal to rock and pop music. Having made several lineup changes through the years, since 2010 the direction and lineup has remained consistent and is that of a much more defined melodic power metal machine. Combining sounds likened to such European bands like Primal Fear, Iron Maiden, and Firewind, the band also retains the American sounds of classic thrash acts such as Megadeth, Anthrax, and Old School Metallica. In addition to well over an hour of original material, the band does “Splintered” covers of classic rock and 80′s tunes transforming them into a mix of both the classic and modern power metal sound. This current lineup has released an EP (Shattered), a newly released full length CD (The Octagon), and has supported such acts as Primal Fear, Gary Hoey, Epica, Kamelot, Lita Ford, and Tony MacAlpine. The band is available for original showcase shows as well as "all-nighters" playing their Splintered covers, complete with full PA and light show. [+]
