Stephen Harburg focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, particularly in the defense of product liability and consumer fraud class actions, mass torts and multidistrict litigation proceedings. He served as national coordinating counsel in numerous MDL proceedings, including the Welding Fume MDL proceeding on behalf of the industry defense group, and the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire MDL proceeding on behalf of Ford Motor Company. He currently is serving as national coordinating counsel in the Pinnacle hip MDL proceeding on behalf of DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. He has briefed and argued class certification motions, Daubert motions and dispositive motions in class actions and MDL proceedings in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, including arguments before the Supreme Courts of Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida and New Jersey. He has spoken at numerous conferences on class action, mass torts and MDL issues.
