Stephen P. Barry

Stephen Barry is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Litigation & Trial Department. Mr. Barry’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation and investigations, including internal investigations, enforcement actions and securities class actions. He has defended companies, audit firms and individuals in securities fraud investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as in private securities and mass tort litigation. In addition, Mr. Barry has represented clients in a broad range of appellate matters before the US Supreme Court and several federal and state courts of appeals. He also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Barry served from 2011 to 2012 as a law clerk to Judge Henry E. Hudson of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

In law school, Mr. Barry was a Notes Editor of the William & Mary Law Review. He also competed as a member of William & Mary’s national moot court team, winning several individual and team honors for written and oral advocacy, including awards for Best Brief, Best Oralist and First Place overall at the regional round of the New York City Bar Association National Moot Court Competition. Mr. Barry completed internships at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia in Norfolk and Newport News.
