Stephen Pearson

Stephen Pearson's practice focuses on complex international litigation and arbitration. He is dual qualified (England & Wales and New York) and actively practices in the courts of both jurisdictions.

Recent representations include defending Texas Keystone, a U.S. oil and gas company based in Pittsburgh, against Excalibur Ventures' $1.6 billion claim for an interest in various petroleum fields in Kurdistan. The 57-day trial was the longest and one of the most complex held in London's Commercial Court last judicial year. On September 10, 2013 the Court handed down its judgment dismissing all claims against the defendants and deciding all issues in their favor. In a clean sweep of all the major UK legal awards, Stephen's team was awarded "Dispute Resolution Team of The Year 2014" at the British Legal Awards, the Legal Business Awards, and "The Lawyer" Awards in recognition.
