Mr. Steve Ellis has been Worldwide Managing Director of Bain & Company Inc. after March 1, 2006. Mr. Ellis is a General Partner of Bain's Venture Capital Fund. While at Bain, he's a leader in its worldwide technology and telecommunications practise and its Industry leading Private Equity Group. He has worked in a wide range of industries including, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, networking, financial services, information services, energy services, private equity and real estate. He has led engagements addressing business and corporate strategy, sales and marketing effectiveness, operational improvement, acquisition valuation, merger integration and change management. Prior to 2005, he served as office head of Bain's San Francisco and Palo Alto offices. He has helped to build global industry practises including technology, telecommunications and private equity. Before joining Bain in 1993, Mr. Ellis co-founded Focus Inc., in 1989, a silicon valley based consulting firm. Prior to 1989, he served as a Principal at Knowledge Edge Inc. where he gained extensive experience working with leading high technology companies. Mr. Ellis serves as Trustee of The Bridgespan Group Inc., an independent nonprofit consulting firm offering services customised to the distinctive needs and challenges of organisations in the nonprofit sector. He serves as a Director of Asurion, LLC. He serves as Member of Advisory Board of Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Ellis received a BA in economics and history, with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley. He earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. [+]
