Steven Malliet is an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp and a lecturer at the University College of Limburg. His research interests include the social-psychological aspects of digital gaming, and he has published internationally on topics such as digital game analysis and rhetoric, digital game realism, gaming effects, game history and educational games. In his Ph.D. he studied the effects of digital game play, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods and drawing on media theory as well as cultural theory. He is currently involved in projects on digital games and morals, the use of biometric playability methods, entertainment in a full dome context and the use of games in education.
