Sung-Kyung Yi

Sung-Kyung Yi is an associate in the Hamburg office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's global Antitrust & Competition Practice. Ms. Yi advises clients on various aspects under EU and German competition law and represents them before the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office. In particular, she assists clients in obtaining merger clearance for their business transactions. She also has deep knowledge in the field of civil damages claims as follow-on actions to cartel cases, in particular with respect to recent developments in Germany.

Prior to joining Latham as an associate, Ms. Yi gained experience in national and European competition law as a research assistant in the firm’s Hamburg office, as well as a law clerk in other international and national firms in Hamburg, Germany.

Ms. Yi studied in Hamburg, Seoul and Leuven. During her legal clerkship Ms. Yi completed parts of her practical training in the EU law Department of the German Federal Ministry of Economics in Berlin and the Delegation of the European Commission in Hanoi.
