The collective known as SU THE CLIQUE is a Baltimore based group fronted by rappers L-Dos and Von Stacks. Seamlessly blending lifestyle rap with street undertones, their versatility easily stands out in any crowd. With an extensive list of material already under their belts in the form of mixtapes, they’ve since decided to kick things into high gear.

Building momentum with the release of their latest solo projects “Burnt Paper” and “HIGHpoxiaR3Loaded”, L-Dos and Von have done a string of regional promotional performances. From local hole-in-the-wall clubs to reputable high capacity venues, no stage has been left untouched. They’ve each been featured on several blog sites, earned spots on installments of the Coast to Coast mixtape series, and gained radio air-play on the east coast. With a compilation LP scheduled for release in the fall, the two have no plans on slowing down.

Influenced by artists such as Harlem’s Diplomats and Memphis’ Three Six Mafia, as a duo L-Dos and Von Stacks have an interesting dynamic. Von’s nonchalant, mathematical delivery meshes with L-Dos’ more aggressive, witty flow to create something all their own. Often referred to as a Yin and Yang relationship by the two, when they get together the outcome is always something unparalleled.

A brief stint with a local label has afforded them more insight into the business side of things, as well as the opportunity to experience what’s possible for independent artists. “Performing at the same venue as Trey Songz and 2 Chainz without a major label deal was a feeling like no other.” With showcases alongside artists like Wale, Saigon, and The Diplomats’ own Jr Writer, things can only get better.

Thousands of views on Youtube, a growing Facebook and twitter following matched with names already attached to quality music, there’s no doubt that SU THE CLIQUE is anxious to help put Baltimore hip-hop on the map. “GRINDSEASON” is an album title that says it all and this talented mastermind group has no intentions of stopping. As the classic Notorious B.I.G. song goes.. “Sky’s the limit.” [+]
