Suzanne Ehlers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Population Action International, has worked for the last 15 years to promote women's health, rights and empowerment across the globe. She has led the organization since 2009, building the case for women's health as an integral development issue that impacts everything from the environment and food security to state stability. Ehlers is regularly invited to serve on US government delegations to key UN meetings. She sits on the Boards of Directors of Ibis Reproductive Health and the Global Health Council, for which she also serves as the Board Treasurer. She co-leads the Rights and Empowerment Working Group of FP2020, which mobilizes commitments to support the right of 120 million more women and girls in the world's poorest countries to use contraceptives by 2020. Ehlers is a frequent speaker on reproductive health issues and has been profiled by The New York Times, the National Journal and Grist.
