The Hungry Ears

After a reformation in the summer of 2012, THE HUNGRY EARS have quickly reestablished a strong presence in the Bowling Green music scene. They were featured last year on KET's Shaker Sessions and have opened for many headlining acts such as, Cage The Elephant, Morning Teleportation, Sleeper Agent, Turbo Fruits, Jeff The BrotherHood, Daniel Johnson, and Five Knives. The 4-piece ensemble recently recorded their 7'' single ''Failure to Speak", featuring a genre colliding sound of grunge, sci-fi, pop, and a little new wave, that was released on indie label, Mooster Records (Chicago, IL). Citing influences such as R.A.T.M, Talking Heads, Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, @ The Drive Inn, Devo, The Fun Boy 3 and Nine Inch Nails, their music draws from a natural live rock core integrating electronic elements and stirring vocals.

“Their music is hard, vital, danceable, and is performed with lots of energy.”— Pennman, The Amplifyer

“I'm not an expert on ears, or The Hungry Ears, and although I don't know what a ‘soul piercing diddy’ is, I'm sure with songs named ‘Don't Let The Zombies Eat My Brains’, ‘Ragamaroo’, and ‘Fire Cracker’ the Hungry Ears come close to defining it.”
