The Vogts Sisters

"Hauntingly Gorgeous...Angelic Voices." Frank Gutch, Jr. - No Depression Album Review

The Vogts Sisters' love for music began in church and at backyard family gathering listening to old-time cowboy ballads and country tunes, which grew into a genuine admiration for bluegrass, folk, and Americana music.

Touring throughout the year in and around Kansas, the young musicians offer graceful performances, blending timeless music with sweet sister harmony. The sister duo released their debut album in Fall of 2012, and My Own Dixie, their first all-original album of ten songs, including award-winning song Ballad of a Love Miscast, released in March 2015. A few of their musical influences include Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, and Gillian Welch.

Maggie graduated college in December 2013, and Abigail is a 2015 high school graduate. They make their home in rural Kansas. Despite their young age, the girls have a highly developed sense of who they are and what they represent. [+]
