These Fine Moments are Robert Watts and Hilary Kaufmann from Austin, Texas. The sound is an evocative, minor key blend of ‘70’s pop rock and contemporary indie pop, with rich imagery, lush vocal harmonies and catchy, melodic hooks.
They have been busy in the studio this spring working on their fourth studio album, "Patience", (coming summer 2015) with noted engineer and producer Mark Hallman, whose credits include Carole King, Elyza Gikyson and Robert Earl Keen.
"It comes at you from several directions," says Hallman. "There's a ‘70’s influence in there as well as a modern sound with an edge to it.”
The duo had the privilege of working with Hallman on their first two records, These Fine Moments and Bright Idea, each of which garnered airplay on Austin's KLBJ and KGSR’s local music programs.
On 2014’s Sooner or Later, Robert and Hilary teamed with producer/musician Stephen Doster. This 5 song EP features Doster’s guitar playing, and session veterans Dony Wynn on drums and George Reiff on bass.
You can catch These Fine Moments playing as a duo or three piece combo in acoustic settings, or with their full band at larger venues.
