Timothy Prewitt is Chief Executive Officer of International Development Enterprises, a 32-year old non-profit organization leveraging the power of business to fight poverty. Through technology such as water filters, drip irrigation kits, latrines, and water pumps, as well as business systems to solve “last mile” challenges of the developing world, iDE helped more than 23 million people increase their income or livelihood. Prior to iDE, Prewitt led one of the most ambitious USAID-funded agricultural business efforts in Africa working with Heineken, Chevron, and Olam to increase productivity for more than one million farmers. He served as the head of the Private Sector Practice for Chemonics International, is a Fulbright Scholar, and lived for more than a decade in Africa and Asia. Since joining iDE in late 2012, Prewitt has grown and positioned the organization to reach “20 Million More” people living at the base of the pyramid. [+]
