Tonti 2012 Zinfandel Old Vine Zin

The 2012 Old Vine Zinfandel is Tonti’s inaugural vintage, and is produced from fruit dating back to 1900. Tonti selected vineyards that are organically dry farmed on the eastern edge of the Russian River Valley, where there is enough heat to ripen the grapes and enough cooling influences from the Pacific Ocean to create concentrated, ripe, mature fruit. This Old Vine Zinfandel offers layers of ripe, dark fruits and cedar in the nose with aromas of red berries, black tea leaves, stone fruits and exotic spices. On the palate, flavors of Bing cherry and raspberry are dashed with allspice and subtle, toasted oak components. It’s nicely balanced and complex with soft tannins and just the right amount of acidity. [+]
