“Tyger Preston is a dynamic and soulful performer, and a songwriter who really understands his own voice and vision. His songs stand alone when performed solo with an acoustic guitar, and his layered, thoughtful compositions and arrangements blossom with the backing of a band, whether live or recorded.”
— Meghan Rose, Clutch Sound Studios

Born the son of a ship's captain and a headstrong, entrepreneurial mother, Tyger Preston was rocked on the cradle of the ocean and raised in Juneau, Alaska, a bustling southeast Alaskan harbor town perched on the craggy shores of the north Pacific.

After coming of age he cut his teeth as a bluesman and bandleader while living and performing at the infamous Alaskan Hotel & Bar, world-renowned for the rowdy crowd of fishermen, lumberjacks, miners, and ne'er-do-wells that reside in her rooms during the long Alaskan winters.

Seeking a warmer climate, he relocated to Madison, Wisconsin in 2012, where he is currently based. Since his arrival in Wisconsin he's cemented a statewide reputation as a phenomenal guitarist and a gifted singer-songwriter with a penchant for dynamic, captivating performances.

His showmanship & songwriting prowess was recognized in 2014 when he was nominated Best Guitarist and Best New Artist by the Madison Area Music Association, and more recently in 2015 when he reached the final round of Project M, 105.5 Triple M Radio's annual singer/songwriter competition.

Dedicated to entertaining, educating, and empowering people through music, Tyger Preston works independently as a performer, songwriter, and teacher.

“It doesn’t matter if he’s playing on a street corner in the middle of the day or in front of hundreds of people on a Saturday night, Tyger Preston gives his all when performing. The only thing better than his songwriting and guitar playing skills is his infectious smile.”
— Jonathan Suttin, 105.5 Triple M Radio

Over the past seven years Tyger has shared stages with esteemed and award-winning acts such as: Trampled By Turtles, TUGG, Wheelhouse, Simo, The Mascot Theory, The Sharrows, The Living Statues, Meghan Rose, The Jimmys, Kyle Henderson, Paul Filipowicz, Tallan Noble Latz, Aaron Williams & The Hoodoo, Deering & Down, Sexy Ester, Gabe Burdulis, Lucas Cates, Beth Kille, Boo Bradley, Whosah, Great Alaskan Bluegrass Band, and Harrison B., among countless others.
