Tyler Droll, CEO, co-founded Yik Yak in 2013 with Brooks Buffington, shortly after graduating from Furman University. The duo created Yik Yak because they recognized a need for hyper-local, open messaging to give everyone in the community a voice. The social media smartphone application allows people to anonymously create and view "Yaks" within a 10 mile radius.
