Vanessa Adriana Miranda Nadal

Vanessa Nadal is a litigator at the law firm of Jones Day. She is married to famed Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.


Nadal is a graduate of Hunter College High School, where she was friends with Miranda. She attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She is a graduate of Fordham Law School (2010). She clerked after law school. [4]


Before law school, Nadal worked for 3 years as a R&D scientist. [5]


At Jones Day, her practice includes a wide variety of subject matters, including breach of contract, healthcare and pharmaceutical matters, intellectual property, environmental litigation, enforcement proceedings, civil RICO litigation, and Fair Credit Reporting Act matters. She also has experience in cross-border litigation, trials before foreign tribunals, and international commercial and treaty-based arbitration related to Latin American parties, events, or proceedings in the following countries: Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. Personal Life

Nadal was friends with Lin-Manuel Miranda in high school, but they did not connect romantically until they were adults. They married in 2010. [5] In 2014, they had a son named Sebastian. [7]


At the wedding reception, Miranda, along with the bridal party, presented a group rendition of the Fiddler on the Roof song "To Life". The video was posted on YouTube, where it has been viewed more than five million times. [6]
