Wildewood Wine Company Pinot Gris 2013

Wildewood Wine Company is owned and operated by Laurent Montalieu, a pioneer in the Oregon wine industry since 1988, who was winemaker and partner at Willakenzie Estate before purchasing Solena Estate with his wife Danielle Andrus in 2002 and founding the Northwest Wine Company, Oregon’s only custom wine-growing facility, in 2003. Having sourced grapes for many years from the Wildewood Vineyard in Willamette Valley’s Monmouth County, bordering the Dundee Hills appellation, Laurent jumped at the opportunity to purchase it in 2013. The ideal climate, unique terroir and well adapted clonal selections make it a perfect source for wines of substance, individual character and outstanding price/quality ratio. The sedimentary Willakenzie soils are well suited to Burgundian varietals and the vineyard benefits from a slightly warmer climate than its neighbors. Bruno Coteaux, Director of Viticulture and Winemaking at Wildewood, oversees all stages of production from vine to bottle. A native of Beaune, he has prior experience in viticulture and winemaking in France, South Africa, California, Washington and Oregon. Anne Sery oversees day to day winemaking operations. She earned her enology degree in Bordeaux and worked there as well as at Domaines Coche Dury and Hubert Lignier in Burgundy, and Beaux Freres and Solena Estate in Willamette Valley, before joining Wildewood.
