Dr. William Partlett holds a joint position as a nonresident fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program, Foreign Policy Program, and Center for the United States and Europe at The Brookings Institution. Partlett holds a law degree from Stanford Law School as well as a masters in comparative politics and doctorate in Soviet history from Oxford University. Partlett combines his background in comparative politics, history, and law to study the role of law (particularly constitutional law) in democratic and economic development. He is currently working on a project exploring the dangers of constitutional transition in post-authoritarian political development. [+]
