Wine Without Reason

Originals band Wine Without Reason blends east coast, west coast, and British-invasion sounds. Fans cite music reminiscent of the late ‘60s/early ‘70s with a modern twist, intelligent lyrics, and catchy melodies. Some might call us old school or classic rock; we like the term "nouveau retro with a twang." The band features songwriter Scott Calamar on lead vocals, keyboard, and guitar; Kevin McKern on drums and background vocals; Bruce McKern on bass and background vocals; and Will Bartell on pedal steel and electric guitars, and harmony vocals. Songwriting influences include The Beatles/John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elvis Costello, Billy Joel, early Elton John, Paul Simon, Michael Nesmith, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, David Byrne, and Thomas Dolby among others. Some fans also cite Steely Dan and Ben Folds Five. WWR has been playing major venues in southern Oregon since its formation in fall of 2010.
