Yingying Zeng focuses on patent prosecution and IP counseling in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In particular, she drafts and prosecutes domestic and international patent applications in life sciences and biotechnologies, including small molecules and biologics. She also performs due diligence and advises clients on issues related to patentability, freedom to operate, infringement, and patent validity. In addition, Yingying works on PTAB litigation, such as inter partes review (IPR).Before law school, Yingying worked for seven years as a research scientist at major pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, and Roche. She contributed to drug discovery in developing new antibiotics, gene therapy, and treatment for diabetes, hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory diseases. Yingying is proficient in a broad spectrum of technologies in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, and genetics. Her main responsibilities included drug target validation, assay development, compound screening, mechanism study, and preparation of FDA documents. Yingying's research publications have appeared in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
